Daniel's Quilt

I can't believe I have posted anything on here since Easter! Where has the time gone? To all that knitting and I still don't have anything done to show you. Hopefully soon.

Anyway, here is Daniel's new quilt. Very easy. One (1) day to cut it out and sew it.
Then I quilted it in two days over the weekend.
I also put the binding on over the weekend using that new method.

Here is a picture of the new binding method. Two strips of different fabric (beige and brown),
the red is the quilt laying under the new one. First sew it on the back, they turn to the front and stitch in the ditch. You end up with a flange and it is easy as pie! So glad I decided to give it a try on this quilt because it is big 64" x 104". Daniel wanted it long to cover his toes so that's what he got.

Easter in Chicago

Recently, while the house was all decorated for Easter, the local Fire Department came to visit. Guess that's what they do when you smell gas in your house. One of the firefighters was quite impressed with my quilts.
We chatted about them a little bit.

I frantically explained about the "hoarding" of quilt fabric as they were on their way down to the basement.

He told me that he thought my quilts and the house were beautiful and that actually I was just...

"One teapot short of a bed and breakfast."

Made my day!

And for those of you interested, the gas leak was fixed 12 hours later.

Latest Knitting Project

Here is my most recent knitting project...a little caplet. It was very easy knitting and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now I just need a little warmer weather so that I can wear it.

February

Ok, the order of these is a little weird, but....here is the second scarf (cowl) that I made. Very organic and fun!
Here is a close up of the Jan Patek heart quilt. Not too bad of a quilting job.

Here is the quilt. Looks great on the dining room table.

Here is the first scarf that I made.
